Birthday Cup 2011 - Spirit Of Giving
The Committee of the Birthday Cup would like to take this opportunity to thank all sponsors, golfers, helpers, the course photographer, the MC and his wife and the Dreamland staff for making a great day of golf followed by the prize giving at the ACE Club, Maadi who kindly donated the terrace for our use and the food in the evening,
For the Committee it was a great day and we hope that all participants had as good a time as we did. This year we exceeded previous levels for golfing participants and, despite drop-outs, we managed to get nineteen teams out on the day. Well done to all 76 players. As a special attraction, or maybe challenge, the golf was followed by a bowls tournament kindly arranged by the BBC (Brighton Bowls Cairo), for those whose backs weren’t already wrecked from the golf.
The prize giving at the ACE was pretty frenetic with a whole load of prizes distributed, the auction, drinking, eating and general revelry as the evening wore on. Many thanks to those who gave donations and bought auction items all of which boosted the funds to be donated to Charity.
Detailed below are the winners, runners up and prizes for individual holes of the competition.
We have also included details of all of the teams, placings, sponsors and auction details.
Once again we give our deepest thanks for the sponsors who contributed to the event and made it such a successful day and enabled us to support the nominated charity: THE SPIRIT OF GIVING.
It is our great pleasure that, through your generosity and support as players, sponsors and donors, we have been able to raise and will be able to donate the princely sum of equivalent, to approximately EGP 51,590 to “The Spirit of Giving” charity. Once the donation has been handed over to the charity we will be able to distribute copies of the certificate for those who wish to receive it.
